Bridging the gap in Maternal and Child Healthcare

Despite a decline over the years, the maternal mortality rate in India is still alarmingly high at 97 per 100,000 live births and the infant mortality rate is 28 per 1,000 live births. Poor access to maternal and child health and nutrition services is at the root of these high mortality rates and reflects a significant gap in the health system that urgently needs to be addressed.

Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust (TMT) envisions a world where mothers and children from underprivileged families have access to quality antenatal and postnatal care. We believe that every mother and child, regardless of their socio-economic status, has a right to health, safety and security. Our goal is to bridge the gap in access to healthcare and ensure that the most marginalized populations receive the care they need.

The mission of the TMT's Maternal and Child Care Project is to provide comprehensive care and nutrition to mothers and infant in need. Our services include a wide range of basic health and nutrition support interventions, including antenatal care to ensure a healthy pregnancy, childbirth education to prepare mothers for delivery, and postnatal care to support the child's recovery and health. We also provide immunizations to protect against preventable diseases and nutritional counseling to promote healthy growth and development. In addition, we advocate for a healthy environment for children and prevent child abuse and neglect.
