Our Founder, Dr. Kalbe Sadiq, a name synonymous with Islamic scholarship, social reform, and interfaith harmony, was a towering figure in Lucknow and India. Born on June 22, 1939, in the heart of Lucknow, he dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of society. His profound impact on Islamic thought and his unwavering commitment to social justice earned him the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, a testament to his extraordinary contributions.

He received his early education from the Madrasa of Sultan ul Madaris and Nazmia Lucknow. Later, he attended Aligarh Muslim University and obtained his Ph.D. in Arabic literature with a gold medal in 1971. In addition to Arabic, he mastered languages like Urdu, Persian, English, and Hindi and was frequently invited overseas to deliver speeches and lectures on Islamic theology. An internationally renowned Islamic scholar, thinker, educationalist, and reformer, Dr. Kalbe Sadiq was admired by people of all faiths.

He held the position of Vice-President in the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and was a prominent advocate for communal harmony between religions, communities, and sects. In recognition of his efforts, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan in 2021. He also served as the President of The Era’s Medical College & Hospital Lucknow and the General Secretary of the All India Shia Conference, besides being a member of Anjuman-e-Wazifiya-e-Sadat-o-Momineen.

Dr. Kalbe Sadiq firmly believed that education is crucial for societal upliftment. He emphasized that education should be accessible to all, irrespective of socio-economic status, and dedicated his life to this cause. On April 18, 1984, he established the Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust (TMT) to provide educational scholarships and assistance to underprivileged children. Under his guidance, the trust also initiated programs for medical aid, widow aid, mother and child care, and orphan educational aid, improving countless lives.

His vision of a society free from discrimination—racial, linguistic, or economic—served as an inspiration to many. His initiatives in education helped numerous individuals achieve better lives, with many TMT-supported students now thriving financially and contributing positively to society. His belief in an educated and prosperous society motivated many to embrace social responsibility.

Dr. Kalbe Sadiq passed away on November 24, 2020, after a prolonged illness. His legacy continues through the trust he founded, and he will always be remembered for his leadership, values, reforms, and unwavering commitment to punctuality.
