Hazrat Imam Zainul Abideen A.S. (HIZA) Charitable Hospital, established in 1991 in Lucknow, is a joint project of Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust and Al-Imaan Charitable Trust Mumbai. Initially managed by the AHLUL BAYT FOUNDATION, Najafi House Mumbai, it came under the complete control of Tauheedul Muslimeen Trust in February 1992. The hospital provides consultation and medicines at nominal rates to those below the poverty line, without any discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion, and aims to provide healthcare to the marginalized sections of society.
HIZA operates in areas lacking access to affordable and quality healthcare services, offering free services to widows, destitute individuals, and orphans, while other needy individuals pay a nominal fee of Rs 10 for consultation and one day's medicines. On average, the OPD sees 300 patients daily. The hospital's medical team includes six MBBS doctors, four BUMS doctors, an experienced physiotherapist, two optometrists, and one BDS doctor, all supervised by a Chief Medical Superintendent, a surgeon with over 50 years of experience.
The hospital benefits the local population, which largely consists of individuals living at or below the poverty line. It offers facilities for minor surgical procedures, various dental treatments, eye care (ophthalmology), gynecology, orthopedics, and physiotherapy at very low costs.
